Meter Test Request
If Jefferson Utilities, Inc or a property owner suspects that a meter is registering improperly, the meter, which is the property of Jefferson Utilities, Inc, will be removed by our staff and tested at Charles Town Utility Board. The meter will be removed and a new meter will be installed. All meter tests are performed according to the accuracy standards of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
Leak Adjustment Form
If you would like to qualify for a leak adjustment credit, please fill out the leak adjustment form thoroughly and submit to the Jefferson Utilities’ office. All repair receipts and photos are needed to accurately grant a leak adjustment. All credits given will be applied to the water account and will not be issued as refund checks. This credit is only given one (1) time in a twelve (12) month period. If a leak covers two (2) billing months, the leak adjustment will apply to those two (2) consecutive months.
Leak adjustments do not apply to leaks that occurred at hose bibs, appliances including but not limited to water softeners, water heaters, reverse osmosis machines, refrigerators, toilets, sinks, freezers, etc.
Pool credits are only given to customers of Jefferson Utilities and Valley Water & Sewer Service that are billed for water only or a Shenandoah Junction Sewer Service or East Jefferson Sewer Service customer. Water is being used, even though not in the residence, therefore all water used will be billed according to consumption used. This credit is only given one (1) time in a twelve (12) month period for sewer charges.

Water Disconnect Form
To disconnect your water service, fill out form and submit to the Jefferson Utilities’ via email, fax or bring it to our office.
